GAINESVILLE FAMILY VISITS

When we are staying in Sarasota, we are fortunate that we could sometimes drive 3 hours north to our home in Gainesville to visit daughter Laura and grandsons Jack (7) and Henry (4).  One of the fun places we enjoy visiting is First Magnitude, the newest Gainesville craft brewery. The tasting room has lots of fun stuff to do for the boys. Here the boys are playing Jenga. The brewing equipment can be seen in the background.

First Magnitude has a unique way to offer their flights, which are sample tastes of 4 beers. They use old Florida license plates and cut circular holes in the metal to put the tasting glasses, an interesting presentation.

In March, Laura brought the boys to Sarasota to enjoy a baseball game, the beach, and the recreational amenities at Sun-N-Fun. Unfortunately, this was the one baseball game that was rained out.  Jack and Henry were both smiling prior to the start of the game.

After playing all day at Sun-N-Fun, we all went to Siesta Key Beach to enjoy some late afternoon beach time. Jack and Grandma enjoyed jumping the ripple waves in the warm waters of the Gulf.

Grandma, Laura and Jack in the beginning stages of building a sand castle. Can you tell just how fine and white the sand is?

Laura and Jack put the finishing touches on their sand castle.

Where is Henry, you ask? Well, he was just too tired from playing at the resort, so he napped (under the towel) the whole time we were at the beach.
